Privacy policy

Epics Unscrolled is a short-video channel about Indian history and mythology on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. It is run by one person, with automated tools that publish and manage the channel through each platform's official API. This page explains what information that involves.

This website

This references website has no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no forms. Its fonts are hosted here, so your browser makes no requests to third parties when you read it.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not receive or keep that data.

Our app and the social platforms

Our app, Epics Unscrolled, uses the official Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (YouTube) APIs only for our own accounts. Nobody else signs in to it. It:

  • publishes our videos and posts;
  • reads comments that people leave on our own posts, so we can answer questions, hide abuse and spam, and find reported mistakes;
  • replies to some of those comments;
  • reads analytics about our own posts and accounts, such as views and follower counts, which the platforms provide in aggregate.

It does not send direct messages, follow or contact other accounts, or read anything outside our own posts.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Comments that report an error in an episode: the comment text, the commenter's public username and a link to the comment, so we can re-check the claim and publish a correction.
  • Comments we need to act on personally, such as legal claims, threats or business enquiries: the same details, so we can respond.

These records are kept privately, only as long as needed to handle them, and never longer than 12 months. Aggregated analytics, which identify no one, are kept for our own reporting.

We do not sell or share personal information, use it for advertising, build profiles of individuals, or combine information across platforms to identify anyone.

Platform policies

Deleting your data

If you would like us to delete any record we hold about a comment you made, email epicsunscrolled@gmail.com with a link to the comment or your username. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Deleting your comment on the platform itself also removes it from the platform's systems.

Children

Our videos are for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
